Week 1: July 2-8, 2017

GM 1: Outrageous (8-16)
How do you describe a camp that is truly indescribable? Well, the best that we can do is tell you that ANYTHING GOES this week! Last year, Outrageous camp saw our campers and staff do a number of Outrageous things: we had themed meals, like a pajama meal, supersize meal, and a wacky hair meal; a camp-wide backwards day; and a truly outrageous messy afternoon that featured paint, whipped cream, and slime. Campers also have the chance to put their outrageous ideas forward and have them drawn randomly over the week. One thing is for sure, that along with some of the traditional activities that you know and love about camp, things are sure to get OUTRAGEOUS! Fees

Iona1:  Brotherhood (9-15)
The Iona Brotherhood is back! If you’ve never heard of the Brotherhood, legend tells a story of boys and young men coming together to look out for one another while they seek adventure, bond through quests and skill-building tasks, practice mindfulness and empathy, while focusing on leadership and team building in the wonder of God’s creation. Skill based knowledge and leadership is passed on from experienced staff and campers, to the brand new campers who come to the Brotherhood for the first time.  All Campers will grow together both on site at Iona and taking a 24 hour trip down the Muskoka River. Our goal is to help boys to find themselves at camp so they can be themselves at home. If your camper would like the chance to reconnect with nature and build lifelong friendships, hard and soft skills and leadership, then we invite them to join the Iona Brotherhood this year at camp. Fees

Week 2: July 9-15, 2017

GM2: The Quest (7-12)
The Quest is a week where campers will get to design parts of their own camp quest through an even bigger emphasis on what they would really like to get out of their week. We have a designated “Explorers” time during which campers sign up for a variety of unique activities, from Crafting to Musical Theatre to Forest Exploration to Science Experiments, which they will delve into multiple times over the course of the week. During Free Afternoon, campers get to choose their own camp activities on their own schedule, dabbling in something new or returning to a favourite activity from earlier in the week. There are so many opportunities for the campers to pursue individual interests, and for the staff to make happen what the campers really want to do. What will this week look like? That’s up to you! See you at Quest! Fees

GM 3: PIF 1 (13-17)
Ready to change the world by Paying It Forward? Well we have the perfect place to start. Spend a week not only learning about servanthood, but practicing it. As a Pay it Forward camper – or a “PIF”, you will start changing the world, little by little, from the second you arrive. Whether it’s a work project around camp, volunteering at local spots around Muskoka, learning about various charities, or singing at a retirement home, PIFs have the chance to practice true servant leadership in a multitude of ways. Throughout the week, PIFs earn between 25 – 30 community service hours that will count towards their high school diploma. Pay it Forward is an amazing opportunity to experience camp in a whole different way. PIF is about giving back, making an impact, and having a blast. We can’t wait to see you there! Fees

Iona2: Go Wild (9-13)
Ever wanted to explore every nook and cranny of the outdoors? This week-long adventure at Iona will allow campers to really embrace their wild side! We’ll be up to all things wild, like looking at hidden gems in nature, learning about the biodiversity of the Muskokas, collecting creepy crawlies, sleeping under the stars, orienteering and setting off to unexplored territory on both land and water! Campers will participate in a 24 hour canoe trip and get to explore the Muskoka River. Grab your paddle, your pack, your magnifying glass and your curiosity, ‘cause we’re gonna go wild! Fees

Trip1 & Trip2: Intro to Whitewater (9-13 & 14-18)
Interested in getting a taste of whitewater canoeing? Check out our Intro to Whitewater Canoeing program. Our skilled and qualified staff will train campers in basic canoe skills and rescues and help them grow more comfortable in moving water. Campers will take some day trips to basic rapids on the Muskoka River to practice and build their abilities. They’ll also learn about how to pack, prepare food, and travel for out-trips on a 24 hour canoe trip. This camp is a great way for campers to prepare themselves for future whitewater trips, as well as get some quality time at Glen Mhor. Fees

Week 3: July 16-22, 2017

GM4: Colour Games (8-16)
Come one, come all, to the 2017 Colour Games! Once again, the Red Dragons and the Blue Knights will compete in games of sport, logic, art, and nature to find out who the new reigning champs will be. Colour Games campers will get to experience all of the traditional Glen Mhor activities along with 2 full-to-the-max-fun days of Colour Games! At some unknown point during the week, Colour Games will break, at which point each camper will be appointed either a Blue Knight or a Red Dragon, and represent their team in a variety of competitions. Campers will participate in events like Cairn gladiator, pudding eating, Iron Chef, dance, canoe relays, and so many more. Colour Games campers will experience bonding as a colour team all the while learning the value of friendly competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Campers, bring your blue and red clothing, and get ready to show your Colour Games spirit! The Red Dragons claimed the title to rule the kingdom last year – who will it be this year? Fees
*Be sure to register early, as this camp is extremely popular and spots will fill quickly.

Iona3: Freedom Camp (8-12)
What would you do if you could do ANYTHING at Iona? Well for one week only, Freedom Camp will let you find out. Campers will work together in a democratic way to decide their activities, schedules, and everything in-between. From building rafts to sleeping under a parachute-fort, it’s a whole new world of possibilities. Along with unprecedented freedom and all of the traditional Iona activities, campers will get the chance to participate in a 24-hour canoe trip. Freedom camp allows campers to explore and experience wilderness living in a way they have never done before while designing their very own camp experience. Fees

While there’s a good mix of the traditional camp fun, Build-It is nothing like you’ve ever seen before at Glen Mhor. After all, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of creating something out of nothing. See you at Build-It! Fees
