FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I miss home?
What happens is that we reassure you it’s a totally normal feeling. Then we give you an environment full of support and good feelings – so you feel like expressing your own feelings. You know that word "home _ _ _ _"? Well, we don’t even say that word at Cairn – because (Guess what?!) it’s not a sickness at all. We call it something different: missing home. We know that everyone separates themselves from home successfully on a different schedule. So we’re here with lots of advice and lots of love – and we’ll even help your parents through their own separation situation!
What if I have problems at camp?
There are lots of people here to help you, just in case – your counsellors, the head counsellor, any of the members of our resource staff and Taps, Match and Topaz, our camp directors. But remember, you have to tell us. If you don’t, we won’t know you need our help. We want camp to be a happy and memorable experience for you, so we want you to know there is always someone to talk to.
