Opening Day
Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. on Opening Days.
Iona Programme
You will arrive in Baysville and if you are coming to the Iona Programme you will turn up Winders Bay road and take it to the end where you will see the Iona sign.
You will be met by the Iona Programme Director who will introduce you to one of your counsellors and tell you in what unit you will be spending the week. Your parents will check you in with the Programme Director who will take any medication you may have.
Your counsellor will help you carry your bags to your unit and give you a quick tour of the Iona Programme site. You will get to meet your other counsellor and the seven other kids in your unit.
If you would like you can purchase some of the new Cairn clothing like a baseball hat or a t-shirt.
A new parents’ meeting is held every opening day at 4:00 p.m. There is also a special activities table to keep younger siblings occupied and amused. Things get underway with free swim at 4:30 .
Glen Mhor Programme
If you are coming the Glen Mhor programme you will carry on on the highway until you see the Glen Mhor sign.
Several staff members, including one of our Directors, will meet you at the Thicket (our camp office) to let you know the names of your cabin and your counsellors.
You will then be shown where to park and will head into our dining hall where one of your counsellors will be waiting with your cabin sign to take you to your cabin.
They will even help you with your luggage!
In the dining hall, you will also find our camp nurse and our administrator. Should you need to visit either one of them, this will be the time. If you do not, you will head off to your cabin where your other counsellor will be ready to meet you too! You may wish to take a tour of the site with one of our resource staff members or visit our tuck shop to purchase a t-shirt or hat or other fun Cairn item.
