Why are there 3 prices for each session?

For the 2024 camping season and moving forward, Cairn is adopting a flexible pricing model, providing 3 cost choices for all of our camp sessions. 

Option A is the traditionally subsidized rate, Option C is a rate that is more representative of the true cost of camp, and Option B is the mid-point. 

Every family can choose the level of payment that is right for their situation. The option you select in no way affects your campers experience at Cairn!

Despite increase in operational costs due to inflation and increased cost of living, food etc., there is no increase to the Option A rate from 2023 prices. We had many conversations about the affordability of camp for some of our families, noting that the Campership Fund was accessed more in 2023 than any other year. We recognize that need, and so the Option A rates are the same for 2024 as they were in 2023. If the Option A rate is still prohibitive, the Campership Fund and other funding opportunities are available to you and your family.

If your family is in a financial position to choose Option B or C, your generosity will be used to contribute to various improvements around Cairn. Over the past few years, Cairn has been able to install change rooms in all of our cabins, purchase new kitchen appliances including two convection ovens, a range, and a new dishwasher, increase seasonal staff wages, and do some behind-the-scenes work like upgrading the electrical infrastructure at camp.
