Our Leaders in Training

The Leader in Training (LIT) Programme has been developed so that Cairn can provide the best possible young leaders for school, home communities, church and especially camp. This intensive 27-day programme involves a period of orientation to the group and camp, a six-day canoe trip and practical leadership experience at camp. It will include leading TLC (Talking and Learning in Christ), supervised practical experience working in cabin groups, and a chance to run activities and a worship service for the entire camp.

If you are going to be turning 16 years of age or older in 2008, you are old enough to spend a month of the summer with us as a Leader in Training. For information on the cost of this programme please consult the Summer Schedule link of the Registration page of this site. For a 2008 LIT application please click on this link. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, you can download it here for free.

The deadline for applications is March 21, 2008. On March 29, 2008, we will hold a Programme Day, during which LIT "hopefuls" will participate in games and other leadership opportunities to determine their potential to benefit from our programme. For more information please contact Taps.

Please note:
- When you fill in your LIT Application and send it to Cairn you must also Register for camp using the Online Registration form.
- If you send us post-dated cheques with your LIT Programme Registration they will not be cashed until your acceptance to the programme has been assured.
