  • A wilderness canoe tripping program for campers with all levels of experience, facilitated by a Head Tripper and Trip Counsellor. Campers learn a variety of tripping skills, including canoeing, portaging, cooking over a fire, and setting up a campsite, all while participating in creative and imaginative play, immersed in the natural surroundings of Ontario's backcountry.

  • Option A: $1,585 | Option B: $1,680 | Option C: $1,775

Cairn’s Leader in Training program develops extraordinary leaders in today’s world.

LIT is a four-week program for 16-17 year olds to explore how they can use their skills to be a more effective leader at camp and in their everyday life. Throughout the month, the LITs will participate in sessions that their LIT Program Coordinators design for their unique group to help them become effective leaders individually and as a collective.

These young leaders will build community on a four-day canoe trip, develop swimming skills to attain Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross qualifications, and learn through activities designed to develop their practical leadership skills.

LITs have the opportunity to apply their leadership skills as they shadow a variety of camp staff roles including site & facilities, kitchen, and counsellors - often returning as camp staff the following year. LITs leave this program with new skills, greater self-awareness, increased confidence, and lifelong connections and friendships.

Thanks to the generosity of the Jean Wansbrough Leadership Training Fund, this program is being offered at a subsidized rate, saving over $1,000 per participant! Thank you to the JWLT fund for making this happen.
